Auto Insurance Claims: insurance claim, special investigations unit, insurance claim

Question
what is the process of a claim when it goes into the special investigations unit and how long does it take?

Answer
Hi Marie,

If this is a theft, fire or vandalism claim, it is given to the special investigations unit. Their job is to investigate you to see if you responsible for the theft, fire or vandalism. They will check into your background, your finances, bank accounts, credit rating, job status, etc. If they find that you were involved your claim will be denied and the case will be referred to the district attorney for prosecution. If they determine that you had nothing to do with it, they will pay the claim.

I hope this helps
