Auto Insurance Claims: Auto accident claim, Auto accident claim, car damages

Question
i was in an accident where i T boned another car, the other drive was drinking and was arrested for DUI. he failed to yield at a stop sign and i hit his car.  my car was totaled and i am seeing a chiropractor. i was wondering will i get 2 separate claims? one for the car so i can get a new one and one for the medical bills?

Answer
Hello Chris,

Sorry to hear about your situation.

You get one claim per insurance company. The claims might be split - property damage (car/total loss) and medical bills.

If the person that hit you has insurance, you will be dealing directly with them for pain and suffering.
