Auto Insurance Claims: car accident, cash settlement, nussbaum

Question
Do I have to provide the insurance company driver who was at fault the auto insurance of the friends car I was a driver in with her insurance information before I receive a cash settlement from them?

Answer
Rhonda,

It sounds like your question is whether you need to give the insurance company for the at fault driver the insurance information for the persons car you were in/driving at the time of the accident.

The answer is no. However, if they refuse to make an offer on your claim without that information, it may be in your best interest to give it to them. I am not sure what state your in but they may want to see if any bills are going to be paid by the insurance company for the persons vehicle you were in, before they make an offer (they are not required to pay you for bills which have already been paid or could be paid by someone elses insurance).
