if i am in an accident and the other driver and i both say the other one is at fault for the accident, what happens? and how much might my monthly insurance costs increase if i am at fault?

Hi Casey,

Each insurance company will take a statement from each driver. Based on those statements they will make a liability decision. Based on your description, it sounds like it will be determined to be 50/50.

To find out how much your premium will go up you would have to ask your insurance agent. Each company has its own rules that determine the amount of increase which could be from 15% to 40%.
