Auto Insurance Claims: settlement, lump sum settlement, insurance comapny

Question
was injured in a hit and run a little over 3 years ago.  I ended up with 5 herniated disc.  My insurance company took car of fixing my car.  I'm still in the process of doing an uninsured/under insured claim.  As of todays date i still have no mobility in my neck. I live in Pa. I have limited tort.  The adjuster told me that within the next 30 days they will make an offer.  My question is can i make them pay for all of my future medical bills that is related to the wreck? In Pa. I have 4 years to file a claim for the unisured/under insured.I have done pt for a couple months, chiropractic care for 3 years, I have seen two surgeons and they both say no to an operation.  I also went to pain management with no help.  So i'm thinking there is no help for me to get to the way I was before the MVA.  So can i request the auto insurance to continue to pay medical bills even after they settle for the pain and suffering.

Answer
Hi Chris,

The settlement with the insurance company will be a one time lump sum settlement. You should be prepared to negotiate your settlement and one of the items of negotiation will be future medical expenses. The insurance comapny will try to low ball you. You should be seeking a total settlement of 3 to 5 times the total of your medical bills so far. If they do not make you a reasonable offer. You may need to seek the assistance of an attorney.

I hope this helps
