Auto Insurance Claims: auto claims, wreckless, nephew

Question
Hi, My nephew was involved in an accident recently where he was at fault hitting another car and that car in turn hit another vehicle.  Driver is one of the cars has had to have physical therapy.  My nephew has to go to court for wreckless, but they keep putting it off until the insurance companies settle.  Whose insurance company has to pay for the damages, the friend, or the policy of which my nephew was on?  Thanks

Answer
Hi Teresa,

Auto insurance follows the vehicle not the driver. So if your nephew was driving someone elses car it would be the insurance that covers that car that would pay for all of the damage. Your nephew should offer to cover deductibles involved.

I hope this helps
