i am being sued for a bodily injury  law suit against me. the thing is my step daughter took my truck with out permission  and got into a accident and now the person she hit wants the kitchen sink. her husband and her had insurance also on her car. what more can i do to prevent my home from being taken away?

Hi Joe,

Assuming you had insurance at the time of the accident, you need to keep your insurance company involved in this process. They will negotiate any claims up to the limit of your insurance coverage. If you are sued they will provide you with a defence attorney. In most states your home can not be taken away. Usually any settlement will be within the limit of your insurance. Just refer any calls or letters you receive to your insurance company.
