Auto Insurance Claims: Car Accident Claim, total loss car

Question
Hello,

My wife was in a car accident and our vehicle was totaled. The at-fault party's insurance company (Progressive) is offering $5,000 for the car, but when we have looked online at other cars in the area they all have higher miles and are selling for about $6,000. I provided the insurance company with three local quotes and the KBB and NADA values but they say that they will not take any of that into consideration. The adjuster says that they searched a 500 mile radius and found the car for about $5,000. Is it normal for them to search so far away? Also, we had the luxury version of our car and I am not sure that they are looking at the right model. Should we accept their offer, or wait?

Answer
They can only search "the local market area". So if you bought your vehicle 15 miles away, they should not reasonably  go over 25 miles. You should consider an eBook at UClaim.com on Total Loss Auto claims. They have a money back guarantee.
