Auto Insurance Claims: no-fault IME, SIU, claims advice

Question
my carrier has referred my application for no-fault benefits to SIU, which as requested a EUO, meanwhile the No-fault adjuster has set up IMEs.  Do I have to attend the IME while before SIU complete? (NYS)

Answer
 Hello Lawrence,

Yes, you need to cooperate with all requests.  If you refuse to attend the IME or the EUO, your carrier can deny your claim.

An IME is usually requested when the insurance company has doubts about the treatment.  More often than not, the IME cuts off benefits.

The EUO is used to find facts relating to your claim.  Failure to attend will result in a claim denial.  If you so choose, you can have an attorney present at your own expense.

Hope this helps.
