Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: A/C Blows hot air out of one set of vents, 2007 chevy silverado, chevy silverado

Question
I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic Pickup truck.  Right before the warranty ran out on the truck I was having problems with the blower motor working only on two settings.  It was later found that the wiring harness had shorted out.  A few months later the same thing occured and I checked it out myself and found that the dealership had improperly fixed my truck using improperly sized butt connectors and black electrical tape.  I fixed the problem myself.  While searching for the wiring harness though, the a/c began to blow hot air out on the driver's side of the vehicle.  If you sit on the passenger side it blows cold air when the a/c is turned on.  Everything else works fine... blower runs on all settings, recirculate works, all a/c settings work ie...feet, defrost, mix etc...  I just want to know what I can do to fix this because its driving me up the wall.  Thanks

HI Christopher

Only one of two things is causing that.  The most common is the actuator that lost its programming  or has gone bad.  Disconnect your battery and reconnect to have it reset.  If that does not correct the problem check your actuator motor to see if it is working properly.  The second reason is that your system may be low on refrigerant, but your vehicle being so new that should not be the problem.
