Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: Heater, radiator cap, ford f150

Question
I have a 1987 Ford F150 pick-up and the heater doesn't blow any heat although I can feel heat when the blower is not on.

Answer
What was the LAST repair on the vehicle ?. ANY repair of any nature ?. In most cases problems that arise days, weeks or even months later can usually be traced back to the previous repair.

OK, ANOTHER EASY ONE.

QUESTION: When the vehicle is at normal operating
temperature are both heater hoses HOT to thhe
         touch ?.

QUESTION: Are you POSITIVE that you have coolant flow TO
the heater core and OUT FROM the heater core at
         normal engine temperature ?.

Don't shake your head TES, Go and test it.
         NEVER EVER ASSUME anything.

QUESTION: Is this the vehicles ORIGINAL radiator ?.

Let me know. However, Past experience and in 85% of this type of case the radiator is plugged. Just because you can see coolant flow thru the TOP portion of the radiator via the radiator cap opening, You CANNOT see if the MIDDLE and LOWER portions are flowing.

If it is a radiator problem, Buy a NEW one. Do NOT have yours CLEANED, RODDED or RECORED. BUY a NEW ONE.

Make sure you FLUSH out the cooling system a minimum of 2 times BEFORE you install the NEW radiator.

Get me answers to the above questions FIRST unless you want to ASSUME it's the radiator.
