Auto Air Conditioning & Heater Repair: 1986 honda civic si air conditioning, honda civic si, c button

Question
i have an 86 honda civic si(1500 fuel injected) and the air conditioning doesnt work . i press the a/c button and the light comes on but it doesnt appear to engage the clutch on the compressor. i have checked all fuses and wiring & it appears to all be intact. what could cause the clutch not to engage? also i was told that the other fan in front of the radiator should come on when the a/c is on & it doesn't. could this be part of the problem?

Answer
Your most likely fault is that you have a leak within the A/C system and all of the refrigerant (freon) has leaked out thus causing your compressor to not engage and your fan not to operate.

You will need to have the A/C tested to see if there is any freon in the system.
