Auto body repair & detailing: rear bumper, original place, rear bumper

I have 2012 Equinox LS, Brand new and I just noticed that the Foam inside of the rear bumper is loose and moving around quite a bit, is this normal? Thanks

Hi Brooks!...No, this is not normal....The foam that you are refering to, is called a " Bumper Cushion "...It should be firmly attatched to the bumper reinforcement, or " Re-Bar " as it is sometimes refered to, with either push in clips, or even bolts in some applications...In some instances, it can also be attatched to the bumper cover itself...Generally with clips...Either way, it should not be moving around...My advice to you, would be to take your vehicle back to the original place that you had purchased it at, and have them address this to your satisfaction, as it is a safety issue...Please let me know, if there is anything else I can help you out with...Thanks....Dave
