Auto body repair & detailing: Paint repair, toyota corolla sport, toyota corolla

Question
I have a 2004 Toyota Corolla Sport and was recently hit on the front bumber.  There is no dent in it, but it got scraped up pretty good.  I can see black under the missing paint.  The man who hit me wants a friend to fix my car and I want to go in knowing what I'm talking about.  When repairng the bumber, is it better to redo the whole bumper or just the section that was scratched up?  If they only repair the section that was scratched, will it look uneven?  Thank you for your help and any other information about this subject would be appreciated so that I don't go in blind.

Answer
Hi Ann,

Unless you know either the guy who hit you or the guy that would be fixing your car I believe I would shy away from this situation unless the guy that will be fixing your car is in business for himself, I believe I would try to find my own body shop.

But to answer you question, the color should be blended in to the original color of the bumper and the whole bumper should be clear-coated. If done correctly this should look just like it did before you car was damaged.
