Auto body repair & detailing: auto body repair, swirl marks, glaze

Question
I have a 2008 Blk. Chevy Impala. My door was hit on the drivers side with another door and caused damage. A body shop had my car for 3 days and fixed the damage. But washed the car and now the car has swirl marks and fine lines all over it. Some areas worse then others. The area they repaired looks bad with swirls and lines. I took it back and they said they would have to glaze it.  So they did, but he told me I may have to bring it back in 2 to 3 weeks to be glazed again. Now this car didn"t have any swirl marks or light scratches on it at all.  I haven"t even wiped it off at all, I wash it at a car wash, using the wand and drive it and let it air dry. Does  this sound like normal procedure to you?  I ask him if this doesn"t work he said then you"ll have to bring it back again. I waited until they done this glazing and they put it on like wax. What can be done.

Answer
Hi Judy,

3M makes a product called 3M Ultrafine Swirl Eliminator that takes care of all swirl marks. Listed below is a link to a site that has the product along with some information. You can also access a web video that talks about the product. http://www.repaintsupply.com/pd-3m_06068_ultrafina.cfm

Good luck Judy and I hope this helps out.
