Auto body repair & detailing: Paint, fingernail polish remover, spray removal

Question
I have paint on my door from another car. It looks as if the paint is on top of the clear coat. what could I use to get it off without doing damage to my clear coat?

Answer
Hi Steve,

There are a couple of things you can try. Try using a fingernail polish remover that has acetone in it. This most likely will do the job. However, if that doesn't work you can try this item:

Be forewarned if you use these wipes you must neutralize the area where it was applied after you're finished or it will remove the factory finish all the way to the metal. This product works fabulous if used with caution. There are also other types of over-spray removal products on the market that will also but not as well. I hope this helps.
