Auto body repair & detailing: advise, gm tech, parma ohio

Question
i'm a collision repair/ refininshing tech in mississippi. never went to school for it just learned from hands on work experience and a little training. full time for about four years. two painting and two doing almost every collision repair possible from small dents to totals. i'm ase certified  collision repair/refinishing/estimating master technician. but i am interested in getting i-car certified.. how do i do it and what do i need to know to pass? is it hard? how do i register and prepare? etc...

Answer
Kelly, if you found me, you can find the I-car web site. That is the best thing I can tell you. I-car Training is sporatic, someone has to sponser it in your area. I'm on the fence about it- I find most guys learn body repair like you did- hands on. I-Car has very little hands on anything. I'm sorta spoiled, I had a lot of hands on training at the GM tech center in Parma Ohio, and I went to a vocational school for 2 years. Good luck to you. Bill
