Auto body repair & detailing: New fender, caviler, factory quality

Question
I have a 1989 Z-24 caviler and the left front fender is dented pretty good. Where would I purchase a new fender that is factory quality or better? Also it is black and to have that awesome shine do I have it single stage or base clear coat. I live in Florida with lots of sun?

Hello Doug! Your best bet is to get a used fender. NOS fenders are impossible to find, and aftermarket fenders are always crap, in fit and quality. You might get lucky and find a NOS fender on ebay, but be prepared to pay pleny to have it shipped. Strip the used panel to bare metal, prime with a high quality 2 part primer, and refinish with base/clear paint for a long lasting finish . Bill
