Auto body repair & detailing: filling holes w/ lead in body panels, filling holes, drill holes

Question
I want to know what is the process to fill holes, in body panels w/ lead?
I saw an old timer filling drill holes in a muscle car body w/ scrap lead tire weights.

i have an old jeep i'm redoing and need to fill accessories holes that are no longer needed.

thanks

Answer
You can use lead, all around weld, fiberglass, or bondo.

If there will be no backside moisture, you can use bondo (you might want to undercoat the back side); however, I would use fiberglass to fill, then bondo to shape.

If there is moisture on the backside; then, you must seal off the backside by using an all around weld (or lead); then you can skip the fiberglass and go to the bondo...but if there is any doubt about it being sealed off, I would cover with fiberglass, then shape with bondo.
