Auto body repair & detailing: Fender Repair, fender repair, nissan maxima

I have a 1990 Nissan Maxima.  The right front  corner fender(where the fender and the bumper meet) has a dent.  I was told that I could hammer it out.  but I was thinking either doing that or just getting another fender.  what should i do?  If i have to hammer it out what are the steps I need to take?

Angie,if the dent isn't too bad you can work it out gently and maybe not even have to fill the dent and paint it.Depending on the color of the car it may be cheaper and faster to replace the fender.It is hard to tell which would be better without seeing the damage.
