Auto body repair & detailing: 2006 BMW Auto Body Repair, auto repair shop, bmw dealer

Question
My BMW backed into a hydrant (no sidewalk between road  and
sidewalk) and there is a hole and dent in the right panel.  Should I
get it fixed at a BMW dealer --what would be the advantages? If
that is not necessary how do I select auto repair shop in New York
City?

If you go to a dealership they will make sure your car is fixed properly and use BMW parts if necessary. So will other reputable body shops and the may cost less. Get some estimates and choose whoever you feel most comfortable with. Check the phone book for shops around your area.
