Auto body repair & detailing: air bag install- steering wheel, nissan altima, seat belts

Ernie,
I am looking to replace the steering wheel air bag and front sensor in a deployed scenario.  Is there a certain sequence to shutting down the air circuit.  I assume you disconnect the battery.  What else needs to be performed so as not to deploy the passenger bag or deploy the new air bag?  This in a 05' Nissan Altima.  Thanks for your time.

Dave,to be safe make sure you disconnect the neg. batt. terminal as well as the air bag fuse.There may be other components that need to be replaced as well,such as a computer or seat belts.Contact a local dealer and ask them for the proper procedures and components that will need to be replaced.
