Auto body repair & detailing: Exterior Graphics, nissan pickup, exterior graphics

Question
I recently purchased a Nissan pickup, "98" It has factory vinylexterior graphics. My question is can they be removed without hurting paint? I don't plan on removing myself just didn't want someone saying it needs to be painted after removing if it doesn't. Thank you for your time.

Answer
Suzanne,
If someone knows what they're doing, the graphics can be removed without harming the factory paint, as long as they were never "cleared" during a collision repair or by a used car dealer to brighten things up a little. They have a tool out now that removes the graphics rather quickly with no remaining adhesive to wash off or the old heat gun method, that usually leaves the adhesive to wash off. The only other problem may be a glossier area where the decal was in comparison to the exposed areas that may have weathered a bit. Get back to me if you have more questions on this! Have a great one!
