Auto body repair & detailing: headlight cleaning, volvo 240 dl, volvo 240
QuestionI have a 1986 Volvo 240 DL with the plastic composite headlight covers. They are discolored/yellowed/foggy. Is there a way to clean them? Or replace the lenses only? Replacing the whole unit is expensive.
AnswerI have polished headlamps and taken the haze out of them. If you hade a buffer you could really make them shine starting with course grit then fine. they sometimes look alomost new. but go slow with the buffer because it can heat the plastic and ruin it.
