Auto body repair & detailing: rocker panel rust, rust hole, mike gallagher

1983 S-10 Pup just discovered 3in.dia. rust hole in the rocker panel.How is the best way to fix this,to make sure it doesn't happen again? I am having the whole truck painted after repair.

You should talk to the shop that will be painting the truck because many people do not want to paint after the body work was done somewhere else. If you still want to do the work yourself please call me or my father Joe Sr. I will need more information to answer your question.
