Automotive Plastics: glove compartment stuck, glove box stuck lid dash

I can't open my glove compartment on my 2005 odessy, the keys don't work. Not sure what to do because the wheel lock and registration are in there. If u have any suggestions, I would really appreciate it.

Hi Pat, all glove boxes are not the same & I am not familiar with the one you mention. However, those boxes share common characteristics as far as fastening mechanisms are concerned. I would go for the hinges so that the lid or the whole box may remain fastened in the upper middle where almost always they locate the latch. by doing so you may push the box or the lid(depending on the type)and then have access to the locking latch.
sometimes the hinges are just a couple of plastic bolts or bars that with some luck can be removed by pushing them sideways.Sometimes we may find a long hinge which is fastened with nuts or screws. these may be seen by looking under the dash where the box stands. good luck. please let me know about the results.
