Auto Parts: brakes, stainless steel brakes, power brakes

Question
I am trying to put power brakes in a 1966 Rambler American. I have been told that the brake booster/master cylinder from a seventies hornet, concord, gremlin or pacer would work. My question is could you tell me the physical dimensions of these parts. Because of location of the shock towers there is limited space. Thank You

Answer
You can do this, but you'd be much better off using a GM booster.  They make a small diameter booster that should fit without any problem.  As long as you are doing this, are you going to switch to disc brakes?  It's not as simple with a Rambler as with one of the big three, but is well worth the effort.  The master cylinder used with disc brakes will be different than the one used with drums.  You might want to consult with Stainless Steel Brakes about which components will work best.  I am no expert on Ramblers or their kin, but I know a few fellas who have hot-rodded sixties Ramblers and theyr're all pretty happy.
