Auto Parts: veering when accelrating, cv axles, alignment shop

Question
Hi, my car veers to the right when accelerating. It is fine when braking, cruising or deaccelerating. What can cause this? Recently my car was at a garage getting the brake pipes replaced on the front right wheel. Is it possuble they have not replaced something correctly? My car is FWD. It is not tyre related as I have checked this.

Thanks for your time

Answer
Has it always done this, or are you just paying more attention because of the repairs?  Most FWD cars will pull to the right on acceleration.  Not under normal driving but when the pedal is really mashed down.  This tendency is exaggerated on secondary roads where the crown in the road is higher and also makes the car tend to the right.  It wouldn't hurt to get a front-end alignment and get them to look at the CV axles while they're at it.  Something as simple as using a different size tire than the original can affect the alignment on a FWD car.  Make sure the alignment shop is a good one (not a chain tire store or muffler shop) and ask them to explain anything they find to you.
