Auto Parts: replacing fuel filter 1998 chevy astro, chevy astro, pressure relief valve

Question
am trying to replace my fuel filter, but am unable to find the pressure relief valve (schrader valve) to release the pressure before removing the fuel filter. Would you know where it's located? Is it under the van?

Answer
John,

To be honest with you, the fuel pressure, from my experience, isn't going to completely burst in your face if you disconnect it without relieving the pressure first.

The schrader valve will be located on the fuel rail on top of the motor.

Actually, I just keep my face out of the way, turn my head, and hold a rag over the line just before disconnecting the line without bleeding the pressure off.  You might lose one cup of fuel tops when changing out the filter this way.
