Auto Parts: 1993 F150 headlight switch., small spring, ford dealer

Question
Headlight knob fell of and will not go back on, I purchased a new one at ford dealer. It includes the shaft. How do I remove old shaft and install the new knob with shaft? Thanks!

Answer
Hi Mike,

Good question. Removal/installation of the headlight knob and bar require that you can fit your hand behind the dash. On the TOP of the switch behind the dash is a small spring-loaded button. You need to depress this button and then slide the shaft in until it clicks. release the button and you should be fine. Most of the time re-installation only requires a bit of force as the bar should have a three-sided point on the end that goes into the switch and the button really only needs to be used to release the bar from the clip inside the switch.

Thanks for the question, I hope this information was helpful to you.
