i have a 1985 full size ford bronco and my gas tank needs to be replaced but i don't know the size of the opening for the sending unit. is it 2" or 3 5/8"?

Hi Pat,

The only way to determine the size of the sender opening is to measure it.

Ford did not specify other criteria as to why those cells are different. I can tell you that the 3-1/2" units were ONLY used on '85-'89 full-size Bronco's. The 2" units were used from '80 right through to '89 on the Bronco.

You need to remove the tank and measure the opening. There is no other way.
