This may not be a question for you but I have a 1993 Honda Civic EX with a Acura Integra LS motor.  I have failed emssions in the carbons and hydocarbons.  Do you know of any quick solutions to this.  I am think new spark plugs and cleaning my fuel sytem.  Am I on the right track?  Thanks. Dan

If your car has a  aftermarket Intake it will have more carbon in emission...also HYDROCARBONS is water in the emission...check you exhaust system..do you have a Catilytic Converter?...if you do is it good?<<you can get it tested...but yes you are on the right track...all that helps ..Run LUCUS fuel system cleaner its the best! Acura swap on a Civic Ex is right up my lane...Are you a rice burner?


I am working on my car.  It is lowered, which has caused my exhaust to crack right before the cat.  BUt my intake is after market, and it has a gash on it, which I need to replace.  It probably does have water in the motor because of that.  Its hard to make it a rice burner when I keep getting pulled over for stupid shit.  But also how do I configure my exhaust system?  DO I get HOnda or Acura exhaust?

I think you would have to get Acura headers.. Honda and Acura motors are so similar...Fix that Exhaust pipe and you should pass..as far as exhaust system just replace ALL pipe with 1/4 bigger pipe right where its at! If you ever order exhaust package..order Honda Civic cause your underbody is a certain shape and the pipe runs a certain way. Or you can get it all custom!!! Go to any muffler shop and they can do it. If you think you have a little water in the engine, you would put alot of smoke at your muffler...if no smoke the water or moisture is in your exhaust system. Water in the engine is not a good thing..run some STOP SMOKE from Auto zone or auto place. If you have a AFTERMARKET INTAKE.. you will suck more air and you will burn more rich! If your in California The LAW is no aftermarket intake..you wont usually pass with a intake.
