Car Alarms: 99 altima, avital 2200, entrance control

Question
I have a 99 altima with factory alarm. Also a avital 2200. Every now and then they get off sync with each other and I have to disarm the factory alarm by turning the key in the driver's side door. Over time the keys wont work in the door, but still works in the ignition. Nissan cant get a key code. How do I reset the factory alarm?

Answer
Car Alarms: 99 altima, avital 2200, entrance control
Disarm Altima
Ok, the Avital has an unlock output wire
(not sure what color) that would be used
to send a ground to the (-) unlock wire in
the 99 Altima, disarming the system and unlocking
the doors. You can parallel this to make
the OEM alarm disarm at the same time you use the
Avital remote to unlock & disarm.

FACTORY KEYLESS UNLOCK is
PURPLE |- | @ the smart entrance
control unit.
The smart entrance control unit
is located to the right of the
steering column.
It is black or blue in color.

What you want to do is bridge
the unlock wire out from the Avital (-)
and make 2 out if one. Make a Y connection.
then put the open end to the
FACTORY ALARM DISARM
green/yellow |-|wire also at
the smart entrance control.

See the diagram I made to eliminate
the need for doing the key thing.
