Car Alarms: disable or remove car alarm, valet service, little spring

Question
hi, I just recently bought a used 92 silverado 2500, with an alarm that continues to malfunction and go off on it's own. the previous owner disabled the actual audible siren so it is silent and drains the battery with-out my knowing. how do I fix this problem, i have exactly 0 mechanical know-how. I'm hoping to either bypass the system, clip a wire, or take out a fuse. Is it that easy or is there more to it than that? thank you

Answer
Understood. Let's try to put it into valet/service mode,
and try to reset the alarm to disarm and stay that way.
First, turn on the ignition
key, then press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating
(90% of after market alarms will disarm this way).
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

At this point. the alarm would have reset.
If it had a starter kill relay installed,
the relay would now be opened, and the engine
would turn over when tried.

It will then stay disarmed until the steps
are repeated, to go back to user mode if desired.

Let me know if it works for yours.
