QuestionHi,
A friend gave me a '97 Grand Am and it takes forever to start most of the time. He said its a manufacturing defect with the Pontiac Anti-theft system. Usually, I have to leave the key in the on position for 10/20 and even once 30 minutes, before it starts. I spoke with a GM dealer and they wanted to replace the whole ignition system for $500. I don't have that kind of money to invest in this car and there's no guarantee it won't happen again. Can you please help?
AnswerIt's a faulty PASSLOCK 1 system and can be eliminated.
I have been dealing with this for a long time.
A complete bypass can be done with the
PLJX kit with 2 relays.
Read through at www.PASSLOCK1.com
and you will see the solution we offer.
**The notes follow once payment is received and
since I am in Tampa, would take to get there.
all you need do is find a person to do it or we can
guide you live.
since I can not inspect it and you
are not trying to install it for remote start,
not guarantied, but the track record for this is
at 97% successful. Price is 89.95
2 projects here. first is the relays and resistor
to get it to start and run, then interfacing the PLJX.
takes approx 1.5 hours for a good tech
that's to do both
But once done like we show you, you can
jerry rig the system so it always alows you
to start it.
Have a look and you'll see this is
the best way to do this without having
to brake the bank.
Good luck.
