Car Alarms: auto mate alarm in valet mode, valet mode, gmail

Question
I have an auto mate alarm in my 88 monte carlo. My wife somehow activated the valet mode with the alarm pad . I've looked under the dash and there is no toggle switch to turn when key is in the forward position,nor is the alarm light which is now stuck on , the switch either. Does any one know of a way to switch off the valet by the alarm pad? I see the alarm brain under my dash ,can I disconnect all the wires and disconnect the battery to reset it? I have a grand in stereo equipment I can't risk loosing. Any help would b greatly appreciated!! Thanks
