Car Alarms: no sound with G4 Alarm-not working properly-red LED on, valet mode, honda crv

Question
I just bought a 2001 Honda CRV last month and when I first got it, the alram seemsed to work fine.  Within a week or two I noticed that I would have to keep pushing the lock button (I assumed battery was dying-replaced battery the other day - locks fine but doesnt actually alarm it).  Then I noticed it wasn't making the sounds anymore when it was locked.  And then finally I came out the other day and noticed a red LED light on the dashboard.  Lit ond doesn't go off.  Locks and unlocks fine. Doesnt not set alarm as I can still open the doors with the key. Panic buton still sounds. ???????  Grrrr..

Car Alarms: no sound with G4 Alarm-not working properly-red LED on, valet mode, honda crv
VALET
Should be no problem really.
It appears from your expaination, that the
after market car alarm is in service mode.

Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area, usually to the
left of the leg drilled into a hidden away spot,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes off, and the siren chirps twice.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in oposite direction,
key off.)

This should reset the alarm.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to valet mode.

(In valet mode, take the vehicle to a local
car alarm shop to evaluate the shock sensor
settings and if all componants are up to snuff.
Makes for a better experience.)

That should do it.
Let me know what happens.
