Car Alarms: Factory alarm needs to be bypassed, toyota corolla, auto responder

Question
I have a 1999 toyota corolla, the problem i have is that the remote to unlock the car has stopped workind, i even changed the battery on the remote but it doesnt unlock the car, i have to manually unlock the car by putting the key into the drivers door and turn the key, at that point the alarm switches on, the hooter starts and also the hazards,

but i still am able to drive the vehicle, my question is, how do i get the remote to start working, or bypass the alarm system, please help
