Car Alarms: car wont start-security system problem, toggle switch, brain box

Question
QUESTION: I have a 1992 isuzu trooper I purchased from a previous owner.  I did not receive the remote control fob. I just leave the valet toggle up. This is the third time I have had problems with it not starting.  The other two times I kept locking and unlocking doors, flipping the toggle switch, or what ever and the car would start.  This time however I'm not so lucky.  I am stranded without any idea on how to reset it.  PLEASE HELP!!
Thanks for your speedy help.

ANSWER: Hmmmm,
Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step.

If toggle type switch.
KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH, KEY OFF,
START THE CAR.

I hope this solved it for you.
If not, removal is next.

QUESTION: okay, I did that.  So now when I try to start the car, the alarm screeches(I guess I managed to reset the noise part of the alarm!).  The car still won't start-only sound is the alarm.  I hope this is enough info. The instructions on how to wire the electrical wires do not include a name brand but is dated 1990.
Thanks again for your speedy help,
Grandma
ps. if you reply, please indicate whether toggle switch is to be flipped up or down.  Thanks

Repair the starter
ANSWER: Yeah, does not seem to be responding. And the switch is only on or off, so it
does not really matter which way it's positioned as long as the
proceedure was done right.

Now it's likely you will need to unplug the brain box
under the dash and repair the starter wire (see attached picture)
to solve your dilema.

Wish I could have made it easier.

QUESTION: thanks for your fast reply.  Are you under the impression that this remote system is not only a theft alarm but also a car starter?  Back in 1990? The wire schematics include a toggle switch, a kill or reset push button and a led light. The passenger door lock seems to have something to do with it since it chirps when it is unlocked and then relocked.
Thanks again,

Answer
No ma'am. I assumed it was a basic alarm, and did not
know about the push button too. That actually is
the piece of the puzzle that I think we need here.

Try this:

KEY ON JUST BEFORE CRANKING, PRESS IN AND HOLD PUSH BUTTON
UNTIL THE SIREN CHIRPS, KEY OFF.

This would be reset/valet override on most alarms.
Siren should be disabled, LED on solid, and car should start.

If this works, let me know.
