Car Alarms: 98 mustang alarm, dash flashes, alarmtek

QUESTION: When i lock my car after about a minute the alarm starts going off for no reason.. it has the stock alarm system on it. it just started doing it today when i went to work... and i have no idea what would be setting this off...

ANSWER: Please be more descriptive if possible.

"GOING OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: the tail lights and front running lights are flashing.... and the horn is honking... the alarm system should be stock i have the stock key fab... and my buddy who has a 96 mustang has the same alarm on his car.... the led in the dash flashes theft...

Conflicting. No LED on a "stock alarm"
and the "factory" alarm would flash the headlights.

Go to www.wirewerx.com and select the
option to get the vehicle wiring chart so it
can be sent to you and give you
the options for disarming a factory and an after market system
in this car.
