Car Alarms: Alpine sec-8028, chevy van, search bar

Question
Alpine sec-8028 installed in 1996 chevy van.  Recently my battery was dead and we jumped it off.  At that time, the alarm tripped and started the siren.  Shortly thereafter, the siren became faint but still could be heard.  I was unable to deactivate the alarm so I cut the wire to the siren.  When I reattach the siren wire, it still is "on" although faint.  I hooked 12 volts to the siren and it is still faint.  I unplugged the brain and plugged it back hoping it would reset.  No luck.  What should I do??  If is needs repair, do you know anyone who can repair it?
