Car Alarms: 2000 Blazer passlock, solution key, long sentence

Question
QUESTION: I see you have found a fix for this problem that works most of the time.  What am I buying? instructions on finding the proper wire to ground and instructions for doing so?  And if so, what is the price?  Thanks,  Mike

ANSWER: Don't ya just hate that?! :>(
Ok, there are a couple of options to consider.
Does it start now? If not, you'd need
the whole kit with the relay application
using the properly measured resistance,
to bypass, then put in a permanant bypass kit
to guard against it failing (self learning algorythym),
The PASSLOCK II solution key would be 85.00 (+s&h)
with relay, socket and bypass kit.

If it DOES start at times, but not always,
and after ten minutes, with the key in the ignition
and turned on, works to reset it so you can
drive it temporarilly, then just the module (PLJX)
is required. See all at WWW.GMPASSLOCK.COM .
(Long sentence WHEW!)

(Yep, figured it out awhile back ;>) )

The instructions and relay application + vehicle specific
wiring chart to do it yourself if you're handy, come
in the package.

Let me know what situation applies.
All in stock.

QUESTION: Hi Robert...Thanks for the reply.  My rig starts and runs most of the time but once in awhile, I have to do the "key on for 10 minutes" dance deal...Pain in the ass it is!  So is there just a wire to be grounded or what?  Do you give the instructions to locate the wire? Color code etc?

I have many years experience working with electronics so this is very do-able for me.  I even thought about running a switched 12V home run to the fuel pump or injection pump but can't find any info about the fuel supply  or passlock systems. It's like GM is keeping it all a big secret.  I wonder why!!!  Anyway, any help greatly appreciated...and not expected for free :0)

Thanks,  Mike

Answer
Not too hard to interface the bypass kit.
And I have a deligated technician and direct phone line
for our in house service when purchase is done.

Easy enough for your calibur tech level.
Talking MAYBE an hour.

Just doing the relay bypass for passlock II
won't hold up. In radical temperature changes,
the PASSLOCK tends to go off kilter, and the
resistor variance changes too. setting off the
passlock fuel injection cuto off circuit again.
So then back to square one.

Your call though, the 10.00 fix (see link at www.wirewerx.com)
or the bypass kit= 69.95, be done with it,
and move onto more important stuff like
the beer dispenser/bbq grill/picnic table tale gate
rig the wife wants for the fall!
It's Spring. You have work to do man!
