Car Alarms: 2001 Silverado alarm disable, kick panel, charging system

Question
I have installed many alarms.  But am having a problem with a 2001 silverado factory alarm.  It goes off at random and we simply want to disable it.  Grounding the light green wire in the purple plug of the BCM sends a disarm signal but only if it is pulsed after the alarm is set.  grounding to the body still allows the alarm to be set and go off.  The problem is that the alarm is going off at random!  Even if the truck is locked with the key and not the keyfob or interior buttons.  All schematics on the web say to ground the lt. Green wire in the kick panel also located at the BCM.  should grounding that wire permanently disable the alarm?  or is it designed so that it needs a pulse from another source sometime after arming?  If it is supposed to disable from a permanent ground then I may have a BCM problem.

Answer
Grounding should disable it for good.
If not, there might be another issue like
a power spike, low voltage at those times would
set off the factory alarm.

Hard to say just what without looking at it.
Check the alternator/power charging system for
validitiy. Just playing devils advocate here,
but look beyond the "alarm".
Never know until you discount all the other
things it "COULD" be.
