Car Alarms: Alarm is silenced, car alarm installation, alarmtek

Question
I have a 2004 Ford Expedition.  It has a mega alarm.  The alarm has the blinking alarm in the middle of the dash close to the window.  There is also an LED to the left of the steering column in down on the left side.  THERE IS NO VALET SWITCH ANYWHERE.  I have taken it three places and no one has ever found a "switch" in this truck.  The car also has the door keypad for entry.  It is stuck in "silent" mode.  This has happened before and a guy at Circuit City was able to get the alarm to beep again, but he never gave me exact instructions.  He got it turned back on doing something with the key fob and turning the truck on and off.

I have tried almost everything.....I hope you know what I have to do to hear the beeping again.  I know it is stupid but it gave me peace of mind.  Also, I have no idea if this alarm is a Ford product or after market....I have been told after market in addition to the factory installed one.  I use the original key fob that came with the truck.  I bought it used and I have no information on the alarm.  If you could help me I would be so happy.  Thank you..............
