Car Alarms: remote car starter, hyundai santafe, remote car starter

Question
I have purchased a new car(Hyundai SantaFe 2008) last month. The dealer installed "remote car starter" upon my request.  I needed it because I live in a very very cold climate. We had extremely cold temperature (-30F) twice during last one month. You know what, the remote does not work in these two days!!  For what I had to spend more than $500! Yes, it works any other days, but if it does not function in cold climate I did not need it.  My friend who has Honda Accord 2005 with remote starter(Astro) did start her car in same condition on same days. Is this problem due to the installation? or defect system? or limited performance of car itself?

Answer
The system may not do 30 below, plain and simple. :>(
But it's best to take it to the installer, and
make some changes.

1. check for proper techometer mode connection
& programming for best overall results.

2. have them set the timer mode (if equipped)
so at certain times of the day (5-6am )
the engine will crank over and warm it up.

This should help alot.

Good luck.
