Car Alarms: car starter/alarm, pin switch, car starter

Question
Is it neccessary to hookup the hood/trunk wire if I don't
need it?  Also do I have to hook up the starter kill wire
if I don't want to?  I have everything wired sometimes i
can start the car with a remote fine but sometimes when I
tried to start it the alarm will go on instead of
starting..what is wrong?

Answer
No on the starter kill. It's optional.
It's also used for "anti grind" to keep from
grinding the starter when you put in and turn on the
key after starting.

You can probably leave off the hood pin switch.
It's a security override. Most folks don't use it.

You need to get the notes for the car and locate
the factory disarm wire to disable it when using
the remote starter. Contact your seller
