Car Alarms: remote start for montero, warranty period, remote start
QuestionI have a 2001 extended Montero and wanted to put in a remote start. Dealer says it might void warranty. Do you know any special problems with a remote start for this car. It has an alarm. Thanks
AnswerWell, warranty period is WAY over I think.
& no, there are no issues that would either void the warranty
(which is only 4 to 5 years) or that would cause ANY conflict
whatsoever. Seems that the "dealer" is just that.
It will require that you get a spare "coded" ignition key
to use in the assembly to allow for remote starting,
but that's a normal thing these days.
Go for it.
