Car Alarms: ford car alarm, ford f 150, valet service

Question
I have a 1992 ford f-150.It will not start. When the key is not in,the alarm light is flashing and there is a buzzing sound coming from one of the alarm boxes. When I turn the key forward the light stops blinking and the buzzing stops, but the truck won't do anything. The lights won't work ,radio, break lights, nothing.I have tried the valet thing,I learned that after replacing the battery.I would not mind disconnecting the alarm if it were possible. It also looks as though it was installed after market, there are a few wires that are spliced unprofessionaly.

Answer
Ok, alarm seems to be in long tamper mode.
Let's try to put it into valet/service mode.

Look under the dash area for a button or, a toggle
switch. When you locate it, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

This solves the problem for now.

Then if you want to remove it, take it to a local
after market alarm dealer and have it done there.

They may even be able to reset/reprog. the features on
the alarm you have, to allow you to use the system
more comfortably, but of course, your call.

Have a nice afternoon.
