Car Alarms: lock and unlock function, gmc yukon denali, passlock 2

Question
I have a autopage alarm on my 2004 GMC Yukon Denali. It was there when I purchased it. I noticed that the alarm arms and disarms when you press the buttons but the doors do not lock and unlock. You just hear a clicking sound. Also the vehicle is equipped with the remote start feature. When you hit the button to start the engine the truck cranks but does not start. Is there any way to fix this?

Answer
Hmmm, it appears H, that the system was half installed.
Enough to have an alarm deterent at least.

The "clicking" sound is the internal lock or unlock
relay. It sounds there, as if the installer did not
try to do the locks as part of the install, or
could not figure out how. Same with the remote starter.
This is not an uncommon thing to find if the shade tree
installer did not purchase what was needed when he first
bought it.

The 04 Yukon Dinali requires a special module
called the PLJX to bypass the passlock2 in the ignition
column. It cotrols the remote starter's capability
to operate. This runs 70.00 (www.PASSLOC2.com).

The upgrade of this module is called the
GMDLBP bypass kit, and will also do the
door lock system trhough the databus connector.
Less invasive, and works very well for interfacing after
market systems. 99.95 for that one.

If you select not to do the modules, you can
try to relay the whole thing.

For relay applications,
see www.RELAYHELP.com (3 WIRE NEG LOCKS),
and www.PASSLOCKBYPASS.com for the relay application
to get by PASSLOCK 2.

If you want to order all suggested parts and pieces,

I hope this helped.
