Car Alarms: acura alarm system automatically sets, resident technicians, acura integra

I have a 1995 Acura integra with alarm system installed by Acurat dealer after the sale.  From 1995 till about a month ago, the alarm system worked fine, only setting when I set it via the remote.  Now, though, it sets automatically when I close the door and confirms the set with an annoying beep about 20 seconds later.  Since 99% of the time after exiting the vehicle, I need to open the passenger door or the hatchback to remove my computer case, this is very inconvenient and is driving me crazy -- if I forget, it alarms when I open the door.  The remote has an "option" button -- I've played with this, but haven't had any success.  Any insights, help would be appreciated.
